Flautas.

Shredded chicken, diced tomatoes, cumin, chili powder, all kinds of stuff wrapped up in flour tortillas and fried, topped with sour cream, salsa and cilantro. These were flaut of this world.

See what I did there....

Two Hundred and Fifty-Nine

Sunday, February 27

Tacos y sopes.

Took a trip to Olvera Street and stopped in at a little eatery with Jess and Alysia. We came away with tacos, sopes, churros and a little better understanding of the Spanish language.

Fiddy-Seven

Monday, August 9

Burrito burger.

Mom's behind this mind-twister. It's ground beef, mixed with refried beans and spices, stuffed with pepper jack cheese, and grilled; then placed inside a tortilla with lettuce, tomato, avocado, green onions, cilantro, sour cream, salsa and hot sauce. One of the tastiest things I've ever known.

Saturday, August 7

Enchiladas.

Stacey Morgan whipped these up for her (and Ashley Scheck's) South America party this past weekend. Cheese, chicken, green enchilada sauce, and probably several other ingredients that I didn't take the time to find out. Regardless, Stacey is a remarkable cook and these were definitely up to her usual standard.

Thanks for a great party, ladies!

Fajitas.

Thanks to Christa Keegan, Randall Fischer, Joshua Gilless and Jessica Abler for these incredible fajitas...steak, bell peppers, onions, refried beans, rice, salsa verde, cheddar, cilantro, sour cream and homemade guacamole. Simply delicious. Some of the best I've ever had.

Ground beef, black and/or refried beans, cilantro, salsa, aged white cheddar, sour cream, tomatoes, green onions, hot sauce...my mom knows what nachos are all about.

[insert "dat's not cho cheese!" joke here]

Quesadilla.

Taco Bell saves the day once more. My order? "Something that looks good in a picture." While it doesn't rate too high on the photogenic meter, this was actually one of the best quesadillas I've ever had. Nice work, TB.

Twenty-One

Sunday, July 4

Crunchwrap Supreme.

I walked around at the Taste of Chicago all day on the 4th, eating all kinds of delicious food, like Chicago-style deep-dish pizza and vegetable tempura, but guess who didn't have her camera. Ah well.

Anyway, this is probably my favorite item on Taco Bell's menu. A flour tortilla around a crisp corn tortilla, tomatoes, lettuce, ground beef, refried beans, sour cream, hot sauce...and then grilled. I would eat this every day.
