Lemon meringue pie.

This is a favorite of my dad's, though I don't think I've ever heard him complain about any other kind of pie, so...yeah. I love using Meyer lemons for things like this, or really anything that calls for lemon. They're super juicy and the perfect combination of tart and sweet.

I'm not the world's biggest pie fan, but lemon meringue is pretty high on my list.

Rhubarb pie.

My first encounter with rhubarb, as far as I can remember, and I loved it. Perfect balance of tart and sweet.

Thanks to Jonathan Walsh for finally getting tired of waiting for me to make him a pie. I knew you had it in you, buddy.
