Two Hundred and Eighty-Three

Wednesday, March 23

Trail mix.

Just a simple mix that I threw together, which has now become a staple in this house. Salted roasted peanuts, dried cranberries and dark chocolate chips. Have also substituted cashews.

Cranberry sauce.

One of my mother's fancy cranberry sauces for turkey, etc. I think this one has brandy in it. And whole cranberries. Pruuudy good.

Two Hundred and Twenty-Eight

Thursday, January 27

Pumpkin bread pudding.

Pumpkin bread and dried cranberries in a pumpkin custard, baked and topped with powdered sugar. Rich but not too rich, really flavorful and the cranberries add nice texture.

Two Hundred and Twenty-Six

Tuesday, January 25

Cranberry scones.

Watching BBC programming, I got a hankering for scones. So I made these. Thank you, England. Served with butter, jam would be good too.

One Hundred and Seventy-Six

Frozen cranberry margarita.

Nothing says "Happy 21st" like a king size bottle of cranberry margarita from your boss! Kelly Anderson, you are awesome.

One Hundred and Sixty-Five

Thursday, November 25

Thanksgiving dinner.

Clockwise from bottom-left: jellied cranberry sauce, stuffing, Aunt Joy's famous marshmallows & sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes & gravy, mixed fresh veggies, Karen's fantastic homemade bread, turkey, Josh's cranberry/raspberry sauce.

:)

One Hundred and Sixty-One

Sunday, November 21

Cranberry pumpkin bread.

One of my favorite breads. Moist pumpkin bread, speckled with whole cranberries. I usually make it around Thanksgiving time, but typically make enough to put some in the freezer too...because it tastes amazing in any season.

One Hundred and Fifty-Seven

Wednesday, November 17

Chicken, etc.

Sauteed chicken breast with a fresh apple-cranberry compote (with fresh rosemary and white wine), garlic mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. I actually thought this was really good, even though it was a total experiment.

One Hundred and Eighteen

Saturday, October 9

Tea loaf.

Trader Joe's makes some really delicious breakfast foods, including one of my favorites: Orange & Cranberry Tea Loaf. It is stellar.
