Snacks.

Toasted sliced baguette, topped with unripened goat cheese and roasted tomatoes, garlic & mint. Thanks to David & Diana Vierra for the inspiration, and Mom for the execution.

Two Hundred and One

Friday, December 31

Bread & jam.

Filipino bread with butter and orange marmalade. I was all about this, and the green tea accompaniment. Totes delish.

One Hundred and Sixty-Five

Thursday, November 25

Thanksgiving dinner.

Clockwise from bottom-left: jellied cranberry sauce, stuffing, Aunt Joy's famous marshmallows & sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes & gravy, mixed fresh veggies, Karen's fantastic homemade bread, turkey, Josh's cranberry/raspberry sauce.

:)

One Hundred and Sixty-Four

Wednesday, November 24

Salad.

Why don't more salads have artichokes? They really should. This was amazing. Snap peas, tomato, black olives and avocado are big stars, too. Served with ranch dressing and some of the best bread ever.

One Hundred and Sixty-One

Sunday, November 21

Cranberry pumpkin bread.

One of my favorite breads. Moist pumpkin bread, speckled with whole cranberries. I usually make it around Thanksgiving time, but typically make enough to put some in the freezer too...because it tastes amazing in any season.

One Hundred and Eighteen

Saturday, October 9

Tea loaf.

Trader Joe's makes some really delicious breakfast foods, including one of my favorites: Orange & Cranberry Tea Loaf. It is stellar.

One Hundred and Sixteen

Thursday, October 7

Turkey & strawberry sandwich.

I am a firm believer in fruit on sandwiches. This beauty was chock-full of turkey, sliced strawberries, baby lettuce, aged white cheddar, raspberry vinaigrette, and sprinkled with salt and black pepper. I was a big fan.

One Hundred and Thirteen

Monday, October 4

BLT.

Another BLT, this one without turkey...and on whole wheat. It IS different than that one I made before. Or that's what I'll keep telling myself.

Eighty-Five

Monday, September 6

Jam & bread.

This is a staple in my house...because it is so delicious. Whole wheat bread, butter, strawberry jam (Mom, read: preserves).

And yes, I had it with tea. So I watched The Sound of Music the night before? So what?

Sixty-Six

Wednesday, August 18

Lembas bread.

Confession: I am a nerd.*

Light, fluffy, buttery...reminded me of buttermilk biscuits. Very simple to make and super versatile. And fortunately, one bite is not enough to fill my stomach. This is good because it's delicious.
