Two Hundred and Fifty-Six

Thursday, February 24

Hot dog, etc.

Every month or so, Alysia and I get together for lunch and an afternoon of shopping. This one afternoon we decided on Costco for lunch: Polish dog with all the fixings, churro and swirl frozen yogurt. Best idea ever.

Two Hundred and Fifty-Five

Chocolate chip cookies.

I strayed from my typical recipe for these and while everyone always raved about the old recipe, they liked these even better. So what do you know!

Two Hundred and Fifty-Four

Tuesday, February 22

Lemon meringue pie.

This is a favorite of my dad's, though I don't think I've ever heard him complain about any other kind of pie, so...yeah. I love using Meyer lemons for things like this, or really anything that calls for lemon. They're super juicy and the perfect combination of tart and sweet.

I'm not the world's biggest pie fan, but lemon meringue is pretty high on my list.

Two Hundred and Fifty-Three

Monday, February 21

Tuna Puttanesca.

Confession: this is not tuna puttanesca. But I made it up so I don't know what else it might be similar to. Anyway, it's sort of your basic spaghetti sauce but with tuna instead of beef (if you put ground beef in your spaghetti sauce), and served on linguine instead of...spaghetti. I quite liked it, though I'm hardly ever one for fish in things.

Two Hundred and Fifty-Two

Chalet Lemon Cremes.

Thanks to Girl Scout Amanda Stepp for these. It's like a lemon Oreo. Kinda trippy.

Two Hundred and Fifty-One

Saturday, February 19

Cinnamon roll pancakes.

My new favorite pancakes. They taste just like cinnamon rolls, it blows the mind a little bit. Cinnamon pancakes with a vanilla glaze and apple-walnut-brown sugar amazingness piled on top. Seeeew guud.

Two Hundred and Fifty

El Pollo Loco.

Beans + rice + pico de gallo + cilantro + tortillas + chicken + fire = dinner.

And I loved every bite.
